Garbage Pickup Day To Change For Some Oswego Neighborhoods
Oswego's waste collector, Groot, is adjusting its routes "to better serve our expanding community," village officials said.
OSWEGO, IL — Garbage pickup day will change for some neighborhoods in Oswego starting in November, village officials said.
Beginning the first week of November, collection will shift from Wednesday to Friday in the Piper Glen, Sonoma Trails and Hudson Point neighborhoods.
Groot, the village's waste collector, is "adjusting its service routes to better serve our expanding community," according to a news release.

Here is the transition timeline:
- Week of Oct. 22: Groot will distribute door hangers to notify residents of the upcoming change.
- Oct. 29: A reminder notice will be placed on garbage carts.
- Nov. 5: No garbage pickup will occur in Piper Glen, Sonoma Trails and Hudson Point.
- Nov. 7: First pickup on the new Friday schedule.
"We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as Groot works to improve service efficiency," officials said.
