OSWEGO, IL — A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help the family of the 2-year-old boy who was killed after a car crashed into Portillo's July 30.

The boy was the only fatality in the crash that occurred at 1:55 p.m. that Wednesday at 2810 Route 34, Oswego police said. The preliminary investigation suggested the crash was a "tragic accident," Patch reported.

"He was the light of our lives with his smile, laugh, and all-around sunny demeanor," the fundraiser organizer wrote. "His favorite things were Spiderman, Nightmare Before Christmas, and all things Disney. He loved to enjoy a cheeseburger outside after swimming class. He was an old soul, who also loved John Denver. Most of all, he loved being a big brother."
