Help Kendall County Buy a New K9 At Saturday's K9-Palooza

The community event and fundraiser will help the Sheriff's Office buy a new K9 officer.

OSWEGO, IL — Eat barbecue and support the Kendall County Sheriff's Office fund raise for a new K9 on Saturday in Oswego. The sheriff's office will host the K9-Palooza event will serve as a community event and fundraiser for the department.

K9-Palooza will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Oswego's Prairie Point Park, 4120 Plainfield Rd. The event is free, but residents can purchase meal tickets that give them access to 5 B's BBQ, which will be serving pork chops, chicken and hot dogs. Plates range from $7-$13 and can be purchased here.

The sheriff's office will also raise money through donations, proceeds from vendor sales, and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds from the event will help Kendall County acquire its next K9 in what is a growing program for the sheriff's office. Previous efforts to fundraise for the growing K9 unit included the selling of apparel.

For entertainment, sheriff's deputies will give K9 demonstrations and allow residents to meet the "dogs behind the badge," according to the event's Facebook page. The Windy City IGP Shutzhund Club and other service dog agencies will also perform demonstrations.

Kids will also be able to get their face painted and have a water balloon fight with Kendall County deputies. Tickets will only be needed for food service. For more information on the event, click here.
