Kendall Co. Reports New Death As Cases Surpass 3,000

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in the county continue to climb, according to numbers reported by the Kendall County Health Department. As of Wednesday, there are a total of 3,205 cases with 2,250 in recover and 29 deaths. The most recent death was reported on Wednesday.

State officials imposed new restrictions in Region 2 on Sunday after a surge in coronavirus cases, but the upward trend has reached new heights a few days after increased mitigations.

Public health data shows the positivity rate in Region 2 — which includes Kendall County — reached 10.1 percent as of Wednesday. Positivity in the region has also been increasing for 10 consecutive days.

Kendall County's positivity rate stood at 9.3 percent as of Friday, according to IDPH statistics. The county also had 179 new cases per 100,000 people and it needs to be 50 or less.
