Kendall Sheriff, Waubonsee College Team To Provide Inmate Classes
Financial literacy and soft skills training classes will be held for Kendall County inmates.
OSWEGO, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office and Waubonsee Community College are partnering to offer new classes to inmates of the county jail. Classes will include financial literacy and interpersonal skills training.
The financial literacy class will provide inmates with strategies for getting out of debt, balancing a checking account, building savings and creating a personal budget. "Soft skill" classes will teach inmates how to apply for and interview for jobs, among other skills, the sheriff's office said in a press release.
Classes will be available for both male and female inmates. The sheriff's office and the community college are teaming on the classes that will seek to prepare inmates to succeed after being released.
