Kendall County Coronavirus Update: 1 More Death, 21 New Cases
The Kendall County Health Department reported the coronavirus-related death of a man in his 70s on Monday night.
KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department reported sad news Monday night; a county man in his 70s died due to coronavirus-related causes. The county also reported 21 new cases of coronavirus infection among residents, and two more cases that have entered recovery. There are now 232 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the county, of which 123 cases have entered recovery. There have been seven confirmed coronavirus-related deaths.
As of Tuesday morning, April 28, there were 45,883 confirmed coronavirus cases in Illinois, including 1,983 deaths. The U.S. as a whole has confirmed 988,490 cases thus far, including 56,256 deaths and 111,583 recoveries.
Senior citizens and those with underlying health problems like asthma and cardiovascular disease are particularly vulnerable to coronavirus infection. In apartments, it can be more difficult to self-isolate or maintain social distancing. The county recommends these steps to protect more vulnerable members of your apartment community:

- Always keep your living space clean and disinfected
- Always wear a cloth face covering when outside of your apartment
- Avoid sharing the elevator and stair well with others
- Wash hands before and after having been in common areas, such as laundry room or mail
- Wash hands before and after touching doorknobs, buttons and banisters
- Always social distance from others, at least 6 feet
- Create and practice alternative methods of social interaction with family and friends
- Avoid running errands if you or a household member are sick or have symptoms of COVID-19
- Communicate with your primary care physician’s office by telephone
- Avoid receiving visitors, unless the visitor is providing an essential service
