Kendall County Coronavirus Update: 14 New Cases, 7 Recoveries

The Kendall County Health Department reported a spike in its number of coronavirus cases on Thursday evening, but also 7 new recoveries.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department announced 14 new confirmed coronavirus cases among residents Thursday night, bringing the county's total to 185. More optimistically, the county also reported that as of Thursday evening, the number of cases in recovery had climbed to 107. The county's coronavirus-related death toll remains at six.

As of Friday morning, those deaths were among the 1,688 fatalities thus far reported in Illinois, the 49,963 deaths reported in the U.S. and the 192,125 deaths reported globally.

The county health department encouraged residents Friday to wear face masks in all public settings where social distancing is difficult, such as the grocery store or the pharmacy. Face masks are not a replacement for social distancing, but can help slow the spread of coronavirus in tight quarters.
