Kendall County Coronavirus Update: 7 New Cases, Now 52 Total

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department reported this Sunday that they had confirmed seven new cases of coronavirus among county residents. The new cases include four males between their 20s and 40s and three females between their 30s and 50s. There have been a total of 52 coronavirus cases in the county up to April 5, including two deaths and three confirmed recoveries.

As of April 5, there were 324,052 cases of coronavirus in the U.S., including 10,360 in Illinois.

The county's announcements of new coronavirus cases often includes tips for maintaining health amid the ongoing crisis. In their latest update, they urged county residents to take steps to look after their mental health.

Some ways people can do this, according to the health department:

• Show compassion to others during a time when we are all facing uncertainty
• Do one kind thing a day for someone else – even from a distance
• Alleviate mental fatigue by restoring and relaxing the mind
• Leave the screen, get outdoors and enjoy nature

The county also continues to urge residents to take care of themselves physically, by staying home, practicing social distancing, and regularly washing hands and sanitizing high-use surfaces.
