Kendall County Coronavirus Update: More Than 100 Cases Confirmed

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the county topped 100 this weekend, but include 41 recoveries.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department announced Saturday that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the county had risen to 101. While the figure has risen into the triple digits, that figure also includes 41 confirmed recoveries and three deaths. As of Saturday evening, there were 19,180 confirmed cases in Illinois and 524,903 cases in the U.S.

According to the county health department, most cases thus far - about 27 percent - have been in their 50s. Slightly less than half of all confirmed patients are in recovery, and about a third are at home. Only about 15 percent are currently hospitalized. 55 percent of coronavirus patients in the county have been women, 45 percent have been men. The county's figures did not take transgender or intersex people into account.

County residents are again urged to stay home and avoid social situations, even holiday plans with friends or family over the Easter weekend. Wash hands and sanitize high-use surfaces regularly, and wear a face mask whenever leaving the home is necessary. If feeling sick, call a doctor before going to the hospital.
