Kendall County Coronavirus Update: One New Death, 100 Recoveries
The Kendall County Health Department reported one more death on Wednesday evening, but also that the number of recovered cases has hit 100.
KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department reported one more new coronavirus death on Wednesday evening, bringing the county's total number of coronavirus fatalities to six. The deceased was a man in his 60s. The county also reported eight new cases and, happily, eight more recoveries. As of Thursday morning, there were now a total 171 coronavirus cases reported in the county, including 100 recoveries.
The cases in Kendall County are among the 35,109 cases so far reported in Illinois, themselves part of the 843,937 cases reported in the U.S.
The Kendall County Health Department also wished all county residents a happy Earth Day in its latest news release. It included a list of ideas that families can do to help out and appreciate the environment in their own small way at home. Here are some of those ideas:

- Plant/transplant a tree in your yard
- Start composting in your home or yard
- Cook plant-based or plant-centered meals
- Pick up litter around your home/yard
- Create a home recycling process
- Watch nature documentaries like Planet Earth, March of the Penguins and Our Planet
- Make art using recycled materials
- Use energy efficient lightbulbs
- Start growing your own herbs
- Take shorter showers – and commit to doing this more often
As always, county residents are also reminded to stay at home as much as possible and to practice social distancing at times when leaving the home is necessary. Wear masks and gloves in spaces where social distancing is difficult, such as the grocery store, and regularly wash hands and sanitize high-use surfaces like doorknobs, counter-tops and smartphones.
