Kendall County Coronavirus Update: Three New Cases; One New Death

The county health department confirmed Thursday evening that a man in his 70s has died from coronavirus-related causes.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department announced sad news on Thursday evening; one more county resident has died from coronavirus. There are now three confirmed coronavirus-related deaths in the county. The health department is also reporting three new cases and, happily, a total of 36 recoveries. There have now been a total of 88 confirmed coronavirus cases in Kendall County since the crisis began.

Kendall County has been relatively lucky with this figure compared to neighboring counties. Kane County's cases are in the triple digits, while Will County is in the low thousands. In total there are currently 16,424 confirmed coronavirus cases in Illinois and 466,396 in the U.S.

The county health department continues to urge people to stay home and avoid social gatherings, and to practice social distancing at times when being in public is unavoidable. Regularly washing hands and sanitizing high-use surfaces, as well as wearing face masks in public areas where social distancing is difficult, are also effective ways of protecting one's self from infection.
