OSWEGO, IL —The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has a new K9 officer on the force, and it needs the public's help in naming the pup. The sheriff's office is seeking name suggestions for the dog, and it will announce a winner next week.

The 6-month-old male dog is new to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, and has yet to be named. On Friday, the sheriff's office posted on Facebook, seeking suggestions for the new K9. The office will pick a winning name out of a bucket next week.

The call-out for suggestions was posted at about noon Friday. In an hour, there were nearly 150 suggestions. There were a number of classic choices, like "Copper" and "Trooper." Some were more in vogue now, like "Wrigley." And then there was "Pablo Escobark," a riff on the infamous Columbian drug lord. We doubt that's what the sheriff's office is going for, but it never hurts to try.
