Last Round Of Leaf Collection This Year Begins: Oswego
This is your last chance this year to have Groot take away your bagged yard waste.
OSWEGO, IL — Work crews will begin the year's final round of curbside leaf collection throughout the village this week; Monday, Nov. 25 to Friday, Nov. 30. Crews will be in Zone A this week, and then will proceed through Zones B and C in following weeks. See the village's Leaf Collection Map to find your zone. Residents should pile leaves to the curb, but not in the street, which can cause flooding.
Curbside leaf collection continues until the third and final round is complete unless Winter weather arrives. In the event of significant snow or ice, crews and equipment must switch to plowing streets, and leaf collection may be temporarily suspended or ended early.
This week is also the final week of the year for bagged yard waste service. Residents that do not want to risk Winter weather arriving before their zone's curbside leaf collection should bag and sticker their leaves, and set them out for collection by Groot.

Residents can also mulch their leaves instead of putting them out for collection. Simply spread the leaves across the lawn and mow over them to chop them up into smaller pieces. The leaves will break down over Winter, proving nitrogen to the grass, and giving the lawn a head start for Spring growth. Leaves can also be piled up around the roots of delicate plants like rose bushes to protect them from harsh winter temperatures.
