Letter to the Editor: Oswegoland Seniors Give Thanks to County

Send your letter to the editor to steven.jack@patch.com

On behalf of the Board of the Oswegoland Seniors Inc. I would like to thank the Kendall County Board members John Purcell, Board Chairman, Anne Vickery, Finance Committee Chairman, Robert E. Davis, Jessie Hafenrichter, Nancy Martin, Suzanne Petrella, John Shaw, Jeff Wehrli, Elizabeth Flowers and Dan Koukol for their financial support from the Senior Tax Levy.

After attending the Finance Committee meeting where eight other senior organizations presented their needs, the Finance Committee voted to give all of us some financial support. We all had requested more money than the County Board had funds available, so they worked hard to find us a fair share.

We appreciate this year’s grant of $39,000 dollars. The County is one of our original Stakeholders and several of their board members have participated in activities at the Oswego Senor Center. We understand in these tough economic times how hard is to find the necessary fund to help the seniors in Kendall County. We are fortunate to have support from The Village of Oswego, The Oswego Township Board and the Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging. Our goal is to serve as many seniors as possible in Kendall County and with the financial help of these agencies we hope to reach our goal.
