Loaded Gun Found In Car Going Double Speed Limit In Oswego: Police

The driver, wanted on a warrant, was charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon following the traffic stop.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police recovered a loaded gun from a car stopped for going double the speed limit on Collins Road Friday morning, officials said.

Wanted on an outstanding warrant, Oswego resident Marcus B. McDougle was charged with one felony count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon after Oswego police stopped him at about 9:49 a.m. near Buckskin Drive.

The 44-year-old McDougle, of the 4100 block of Cherry Road, was pulled over for driving 61 mph in a 30-mph zone. During the stop, police found a loaded firearm in the man's possession and learned of the warrant out for his arrest, according to a news release.

The Kendall County State's Attorney's Office approved one count of aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon against McDougle, who was booked at the Oswego Police Department before he was taken to the Kendall County jail to await a pre-trial hearing.

McDougle has a pending court date set for Aug. 19, police said.
