Woman Accused Of Driving Into Gas Station Worker: Oswego PD

The Oswego Police are investigating a Christmas Day incident at a local Shell station wherein a worker was allegedly struck with a car.

OSWEGO, IL — According to a report from Oswego police, a woman from an unknown town is accused of hitting a 60-year-old worker at a gas station with her car on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the Shell gas station on 1190 Route 34.

According to the report, the accused driver is approximately 25 years old and hit the Shell employee with a silver Chevrolet sedan. The identity of the driver is still currently unknown, Oswego PD Public Information Officer Cathy Nevara said, though the report indicated that the police do have a possible license plate number.

The struck worker suffered minor injuries from being hit, but was not hospitalized. The accused driver left the scene and was not taken into custody, and no charges have yet been levied against her, pending further investigation.

"The suspect driver’s actions are still under investigation. [The] suspect had damaged some merchandise in the store before leaving. [The] employee had attempted to get information on the suspect vehicle when she was struck," Nevara said via email.

This incident is currently under police investigation. More information may become available at a later date.
