Motorcycle Driver, 19, Sustains 'Major' Head Injuries After Crash With SUV: Oswego Police
The Yorkville teen was brought to a local hospital before he was airlifted to Loyola Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

OSWEGO, IL — A 19-year-old motorcycle driver sustained "major" head injuries after a crash with an SUV Thursday afternoon in Oswego, police said.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Honda CRV collided around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Route 34 and Orchard Road.
The preliminary investigation found that the motorcycle was headed west on Route 34 when the Honda, driving east, attempted to turn left onto Orchard Road to travel north when the motorcycle hit the front passenger side of the car, police said.

The motorcyclist, who is from Yorkville, had other unknown injuries. He was initially taken to Rush Copley Medical Center but later airlifted to Loyola Hospital due to the severity of his injuries, according to a news release. Oswego police said they are not aware of his current condition.
The driver of the SUV, a 73-year-old Plano woman, was issued a citation for failure to yield when turning left. She was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

Oswego police called in the Illinois State Police Reconstruction Unit to conduct a full crash reconstruction. The intersection was closed for about three hours.
The crash remains under investigation, Oswego police said.
