Nearly $10K In Equipment Stolen From Oswego Rental Business
Someone made off with nearly $10,000 worth of equipment from First Place Rental, according to police.
OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego construction equipment rental business saw nearly $10,000 worth of equipment stolen from its premises, according to Oswego Police. The theft happened at First Place Rental, 4975 Route 71.
At about 4:50 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, someone made off with $9,900 worth of equipment from the store, police said in an incident report. First Place Rental, which rents out construction and other professional equipment, notified police of the theft Tuesday morning.
Police did not release a description of any suspects in the case, but said the investigation is ongoing. A representative for First Place Rental did not immediately return a request for comment.

The incident at First Place Rental is just one of a number of high-profile thefts to hit Oswego recently. In September, someone made off with $75,000 worth of jewelry stolen from the Oswego Kohl's store. That same month, thieves took off with $95,000 worth of electronics equipment from the Oswego UPS facility.
