Need Something Hauled Away? Today's Your Day

OHS grads spending Friday volunteering a truck, their services.

Most teenagers don’t have a “Bucket List.”

But then again, 2010 graduates Dan Parkinson and Ryan Adorjan aren’t most teenagers.

And that’s just how they got the idea for what’s become the Dingo and Ryguy Pointless Truck Rental Day—a day where the pair rent two 16-foot moving trucks and volunteer to haul stuff in the community free of charge.

That day this year happens to be Friday.

“We had this idea that we would just rent these trucks for fun,” said Adorjan, a contributor to Oswego Patch. “Then we thought, well we should help people that need it.”

This is the second year for the event, and last year Adorjan said the two helped “a bunch of people,” including a Boulder Hill shop owner who was closing her store.

As for restrictions, Adorjan said they ask that the items have a clear pickup and drop-off spot and are limited to Oswego and Montgomery.

“If you have something for us to take, but you don’t know where it’s going, we can’t do it.” he said.

The Dingo and Ryguy Pointless Truck Rental Day runs from 8 a.m. Friday and the trucks are due back to the rental shop at 8 a.m. Saturday.
