OSWEGO, IL — A new Starbucks will open on Orchard Road in Oswego next year.

The Village Board voted Nov. 27 to approve the final planned unit development and plat for the Starbucks on an outlot just north of Jewel-Osco off Route 34. The coffee shop will be accessible by Station Drive.

Plans include the coffee giant’s new prototype building design with a larger interior and outdoor patio as well as a drive-thru window, according to a news release from the village.

A Valvoline Instant Oil Change will be built on the property next to Starbucks. Both businesses were approved by trustees under the same planned unit development and plat.

Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in March 2024 and expected to be completed in the fall.

“We’re excited to welcome a new Starbucks to Oswego,” Village President Ryan Kauffman said in a statement. “The Orchard Road corridor continues to attract new businesses and services to the southwest side of Oswego to serve our residents.”

So far, Oswego is home to a stand-alone Starbucks at 2750 Route 34 as well as a couple of in-store locations at local Jewel grocery stores.
