Oswego D308 Coronavirus Cases Continue To Drop
Data for the week of Feb. 15-21 showed a total of 16 positive cases of COVID-19 in the district.
OSWEGO, IL — The number of coronavirus cases among the Oswego School District 308 staff and students has decreased, according to recent data.
Data for the week of Feb. 15-21 showed a total of 16 positive cases of COVID-19 in the district. Twelve of those cases were students while four of the cases are listed as staff members. That's a decrease from the 18 cases reported the week before.
Currently, a total of 138 teachers and staff members are isolating due to experiencing one or more symptoms of COVID-19. Of those quarantining, 126 are students and 12 are staff, according to the district.

The district's metrics dashboard also showed that a total of 129 students and staff are in a "healthy quarantine," including 112 students and 17 staff. The final metric, confirmed cases with close contact, has dropped to two cases, reported by district health staff following contact tracing efforts.
The mitigation web page also features clarification about the steps OSD 308 is taking to protect students and staff from COVID-19 including an explanation of PPE and staff availability.

The majority of the district's more than 17,000 students have been participating in online instruction since the start of the school year last August, and the second phase of the hybrid learning began Feb. 16.
