Oswego Fire Ignited In Lumber Storage Area

The small fire in the Stonehill Industrial Park was quickly put out.

OSWEGO, IL — Firefighters responded early Friday morning to a small fire in a business at the Stonehill Industrial Park in Oswego. A fire alarm was activated at 6:04 a.m. Dispatchers received calls from people who were smelling smoke, so the response was upgraded to a general alarm.

Crews found heavy smoke coming from the end of a multi-unit industrial building at the southeast corner of Wolf's Crossing Road and Route 34. The sprinklers had been activated, and small fire in a lumber storage area was quickly extinguished by firefighters, according to a press release from the Oswego Fire Protection District. No injuries were reported.
