Oswego H.S. Kicks Off Homecoming Week With Parade Sunday
The parade will begin at Oswego High School and end near Downtown Sunday afternoon.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego High School's homecoming week will kick off on Sunday, with a parade through Downtown. The event is the first in a week filled with activities leading up to the homecoming football game on Friday, Sept. 27.
The parade will kick of at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oswego High School, 4260 Route 71. It will weave through town before ending near Downtown at about 4 p.m., according to Oswego Police.
A number of Downtown streets will be temporarily closed to allow the parade to proceed, police said in a news release. Drivers are asked to remain patient when traveling through Downtown, or to take an alternative route.

Officers will be out along the parade route and directing traffic. A list of impacted streets is below.
The parade will be just the first in a series of homecoming events at Oswego High School. Students will have a series of "spirit days," including a tropical-themed dress down day on Monday. Food trucks will be brought in for lunch Thursday, and a pep assembly will be held on Friday.

The Panthers will take on Plainfield North for its homecoming game at 7 p.m. Friday. A homecoming dance will be held at the school on Saturday.
