OSWEGO, IL — As the popular adage goes, heroes don't always wear a cape. But when tomes are tough, they emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Laurie has gone above and beyond during this crisis. During the day, Laurie works as an ENT Nurse. At night, Laurie works on making masks to keep people safe. She has donated her time and energy to supplying friends, nursing homes, prisons and many more with masks.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Laurie is a blessing! I am lucky enough to call her my friend.
