Oswego Man Charged With Unlawful Possession Of Firearm By A Felon

Residents said Jamie D. Gunter was yelling at houses on Greenview Lane before being taken into custody on Christmas morning.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego Police say 42-year-old Jamie D. Gunter was arrested on Christmas morning after residents reported he was yelling at houses in the 400 block of Greenview Lane.

Officers found Gunter around 8:40 a.m., according to a news release, and called paramedics after determining that he needed medical attention. Gunter was transported to a local hospital without incident, police said, and kept there for evaluation.

According to officers, when he was taken into custody, Gunter had been in possession of a firearm for which he did not have a concealed carry license or Firearms Owners Identification Card. He was charged the next day with a felony for unlawful firearm possession by a felon.

Police arrested Gunter on December 28, after he was released from the hospital. He is being held at the Kendall County Public Safety Center on $175,000 bond pending a court date.
