Mayor Gives YouTube Update On Oswego Coronavirus Response
The minute-long video explains what measures the village is taking in responding to the coronavirus crisis.
OSWEGO, IL — Mayor Troy Parlier delivered an address to the village on YouTube on Wednesday, explaining what measures the village is taking to address the coronavirus situation. He also gave a summary of how local grocery stores are doing in handling their supply chains and keeping shelves stocked.
"I spoke with our large grocers today," Parlier says in the minute-long video, "and they all said their supply chains are in good shape. Many have shortened their hours in order to re-stock the shelves in the evenings."
To prepare for any further breakdowns of normal village functions, Parlier signed a Declaration of Emergency for the village on Monday night. The declared emergency is set to last through April 7 and both allows the village to receive FEMA funding and eases restrictions on certain business practices. Namely, noise and time restrictions on shipping goods have been greatly relaxed.

"We suspended noise and delivery hour restrictions near business and logistic centers. Additionally, we suspended restrictions on storage containers in the event they are used for staging goods," Parlier said.
Finally, Parlier urged all village residents to remain neighborly as the crisis takes its course across the country.
