Oswego Police Blotter: Oct. 26 - 31
Incident reports include a phony car deal, retail theft and domestic battery.

OSWEGO, IL — From a fraudulent car purchase to an underage drinking arrest, this past week brought no shortage of tricks for Oswego Police. These are items taken from the Oswego Police reports Oct. 26-30.
William E. Seaton, 41, of Paradise Parkway, was arrested Thursday on a warrant around 8 o’clock in the morning. Location of arrest: Plainfield Road & Woolley Road.
Thursday, just before 6:30 p.m., an unknown metal object fell from a moving vehicle, causing damage to Barbara Whalen’s vehicle. The incident occurred at the corner of Rt. 34 and Heritage Drive.
Four vehicles rear-ended each other Thursday around 2:45 p.m. near the corner of Rt. 71 and Panther Lane. The drivers were: Grace Crouse, 19, Rebecca Gorski, 32, Klarissa Sworos, 27, and Kyle Keeton, 19. No injuries were reported.
Jesus Camacho-Vera, 27, of Rt. 34 in Yorkville, was arrested Oct. 27 for speeding without a valid driver’s license or insurance. He was taken into custody near the intersection of Rt. 71 and Panther Lane.
A 46-year-old Indiana woman reported her cell phone was taken Oct. 27 at an unknown time, perhaps at a Target store.
Ditrick Miller, 18, of Montgomery, was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license and not wearing a seat belt around 10:30 Oct. 27 near the corner of Fernwood Road and Douglas Road.
Police investigated an accident at Madison Street and Washington Street Oct. 27 around 9 p.m. with reported injuries. Caleb Thomas Pearson, 19, and Robin A. R. Johnson, 36, were the drivers.
More than an estimated $1,000 in damage was done Oct. 28 just before 11 a.m. when a driver of a pickup truck, Wendy Kaczmarek, 52, of Montgomery, failed to yield and struck a sedan. Jessica Conte, 26, of Tinley Park, was driving her vehicle north near the corner of Rt. 34 and Douglas Road when the incident occurred.
10:40 a.m. Oct. 28, Douglas Hill, 57, of Montgomery, made a left turn from Rt. 34 onto Kendall Point Drive and a 17-year-old juvenile from Aurora was not able to stop in time to avoid hitting him.
At 2:38 p.m. Oct. 28, Juan Gonzalez-Castaneda, 31, of Kane Street in Aurora, was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license and speeding. He was caught at the corner of Tyler Street and Madison Street.
A 16-year-old driver struck the rear of a 66-year-old’s vehicle near Rt. 34 and Kendall Point Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Police are investigating a possible assault that took place Oct. 27 around 10 a.m. The incident was reported the following day and allegedly took place at the corner of Chicago Road and Rt. 34.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested Oct. 27 for underage drinking at the 4000 block of Rt. 71. The time of the incident is unknown, but the report was taken at 11:30 a.m.
A 44-year-old woman of Allington Court reported Oct. 28 that her credit card information was stolen a couple days prior. Police are investigating.
Courtney Lagenour, 24, of Washington Street, was charged with domestic battery Oct. 29 at around 9:30 p.m. at her place of residence.
A hit-and-run was reported from the Walmart parking lot Oct. 30 at 8:40 a.m. A man’s vehicle was struck while it was parked.
Oswego Police responded to the 2000 block of Farmington Lakes Drive Oct. 30 for a hit-and-run accident. The vehicle was legally parked in a parking lot and was damaged at some point prior to Sunday afternoon’s call. More than $500 in damage was done to the convertible that is owned by a 21-year-old.
Oct. 31, a Verizon Wireless employee called the police to report someone taking more than $3,500 worth of merchandise Oct. 17 at around 1 a.m. The incident is pending further investigation.
Oct. 30, 8:15 in the evening: A two-vehicle crash occurred near the corner of Madison Street and Washington Street. Drivers were a 17-year-old minor and 26-year-old Brandon Cihak.
Oct. 30, time unknown: 18-year-old Grace Lockhart of Oswego failed to yield to Peter Metrou, 56, also of Oswego.
Two suspects were arrested for retail theft Oct. 31 around 12:30 a.m. Shawn Akison, 34, and Gail Burch, 31, both of Joliet, were charged with retail theft. Together, they allegedly stole $548.79 worth of goods from Meijer. Their court date is set for Nov. 27.
More than $300 was taken from 1425 Route 34 some time between Sunday night and Monday morning. In the adjacent parking lot, four wheels and four tires were taken, valued at over $3,000. Anyone with information is asked to call Oswego Police at 630-551-7300.
In April of 2017, a vehicle was purchased fraudulently through a Riverview Ford dealership by a suspect. The incident was reported Monday morning and is still under investigation.
Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
