Oswego Police Investigating Local Burglary
Police claim that four people attempted to steal an ATM from a local business on Friday, before instead taking cash and store merchandise.
OSWEGO, IL — This investigation is still ongoing. These are the facts known at this time.
On Friday, January 24, 2020, at approximately 2:40 a.m., the Oswego Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at a business in the 4500 block of Route 71. Officers arrived and observed broken glass in the front door to the business. Officers cleared the interior of the business however no subjects were located on scene.

Video surveillance captured four subjects driving a white 2013 KIA Optima back up to the store entrance, break the front door glass and attempt to steal the ATM machine. The subjects were able to remove only the top part of the ATM which did not contain any money. It is also alleged that the subjects took a value of approximately $500.00 of store merchandise and an unspecified amount of cash. The damage to the ATM machine is valued at approximately $1000.00. The investigation is ongoing.
The four subjects are described as follows:- Suspect 1 – male, approximately 19-25 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans and white shoes, wearing gloves, a mask and the hood concealing his face.
- Suspect 2 – male, approximately 19-25 years of age, wearing red gloves, a gray hooded sweatshirt with the word GAP on front in large, white, bold lettering, black sweatpants and black shoes.
- Suspect 3 – male, approximately 19-25 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, dark-colored gloves, black sweatpants and black shoes, as well as a mask concealing his face, also has a non-descript picture on the back of black hooded sweatshirt.
- Suspect 4 – female, black, approximately 19-25 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, as well as a piece of clothing concealing the portion of her face just below her nose, gray sweatpants, as well as black boots and black gloves.
The Oswego Police Department is asking anyone who may have information to contact them at 630-551- 7300. Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made to Kendall Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999, where tips leading to arrests may receive a cash reward of up to $1000.
