Oswego Police Reveal Results From 4th Of July Enforcement Campaign

Oswego police joined forces with more than 200 other local law enforcement agencies for the high-visibility 4th of July enforcement.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Police Department revealed Monday that officers issued a total of 90 citations during its Fourth of July safety campaign.

The enforcement ran from June 20 to July 7, encompassing Independence Day. Here's a look at the breakdown of tickets issued:

  • 78 seat belt
  • 10 distracted driving
  • 2 other

The enforcement effort was paid for by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
