Oswego Police, SD308, Meijer Partner For 'Shop With A Cop'

"This is a great opportunity to foster positive relationships between youths and officers," officials said.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Police Department, Community Unit School District 308 and the local Meijer teamed up this year to bring some holiday cheer to area kids and teens, officials said.

"Oswego Police went shopping with eighteen Oswego-area youths in the police department's 2nd annual 'Shop with a Cop,'" the department posted to Facebook.

Officials said each child was partnered with an Oswego Police officer and given a $100 gift card, donated by Meijer, to purchase gifts for themselves and their families. Organizers worked with the school district to identify children most in need to participate in the program.
