Oswego School District Offering Free Parent Program
The program is designed for parents of 5th - 12th graders and will address a number of tough issues facing kids in school today,
OSWEGO, IL — Oswego Community Unit School District is offering a free program for all parents, guardians and educators of students in grades 5th-12th. The program will discuss a number of challenging topics, including violence prevention, vaping, suicide prevention, emotional health and safety at school.
A number of area guest speakers will offer short presentations on the topics and attendees will be offered the opportunity to ask questions of the panel. Speakers include: a School Resource Officer, Behavior Specialist, EMS/Paramedic, Teacher, Counselor and School Administrators.

Parents, guardians and educators are encouraged to attend, as an overview of many current topics will be discussed, as well as resources to use when more assistance is needed. Even if a student doesn’t show troublesome behavior, being educated on what challenges they face, what the school district has in place to support students, and where to go when you need help is important.
The program is free, and will be held on Wednesday, March 11 from 6-8pm at the Oswego East High School Community Room. RSVP is requested: www.sd308.org/parents.
