Oswegoland Park District Awarded Grant For Construction Of A Ramp

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswegoland Park District has been awarded a grant in the amount of $56,100 from the Illinois Public Museum Capital Grants Program for construction of a ramp at the Little White School Museum to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

"The Little White School Museum is one of our community treasures," Rep. Keith Wheeler (R-Oswego) said. "It is essential that visitors and volunteers with a physical disability have safe and convenient access to the museum. This state grant will make it possible for everyone in our community to experience and enjoy the Little White School Museum and their exhibits celebrating Oswego’s rich history."

The Illinois Public Museum Capital Grants Program, administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, is open to any museum operated by local government or located on municipally-owned land. The maximum grant award for the projects announced today was $750,000 and matching funds are required in many cases based on museum attendance levels.

Rep. Wheeler serves the 50th District, which includes portions of Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, Campton Hills, Elburn, Montgomery, Oswego, Plano, St. Charles, Sugar Grove and Yorkville.
