Pair Switched Seats During Traffic Stop Near Oswego: Sheriff's Department
The man allegedly driving had a suspended license
A Kendall County Sheriff Deputy arrested Jose Vargas and Rita Famera after they switched seats during a traffic stop on Tuesday night, according to a Sheriff's Office press release. Famera was apparently trying to help Vargas avoid arrest as he had a suspended driver's license.
The deputy saw a vehicle near Route 25 and Boulder Hill Pass. A registration check showed the owner had a suspended driver's license. When the deputy conducted the stop, the driver and passenger allegedly changed seats. Vargas, a 35-year-old from Aurora, was charged with driving with a suspended license. Famera, also 35, from Montgomery, was charged with obstructing a peace officer.
