Park District To Pause Most In-Person Programs Until Dec. 6

The Oswegoland Park District will follow state guidance to determine if the programs can be resumed on Dec. 7.

OSWEGO, IL — With new restrictions on the state, the Oswegoland Park District announced changes in its guidelines on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, health officials announced that Tier 3 mitigations will go into effect across the entire state on Friday. The additional mitigations include the closure of casinos, theaters, indoor museums, performing arts centers, amusement centers and indoor recreation centers.

  • All in-person programming and events, except for Kid’s Connection and Junior Kid’s Connection, will be paused through Dec.6.
  • Prorated credits will be issued automatically for missed classes by Dec. 4.
  • The district will follow state guidance in determining if programming is able to resume on Dec. 7.
  • Park district facilities will be closed to the public during this time.
  • Parks, trails, and playgrounds will remain open.

"We understand the importance of our services not only for recreation, but for the mental and physical wellness of our whole community," district officials said in a social media post. "As always, we are committed to offering recreational outlets to keep you and your family active while also keeping you safe and healthy."
