Photo Slideshow: Oswego Family Helps Out in Joplin
Much needed supplies delivered to those in need.
Oswego businessman Larry Motykowski and his family spent their Fourth of July holiday helping those in real need.
Motykowski, his wife and their three boys traveled to Joplin, Mo. to deliver supplies donated from his shop, The Man Store—an online retailer with plans to open a retail store front in Oswego. Joplin was leveled by a tornado May 21 that to date has killed 153 people.
"We loaded the van with boxes of gloves, safety glasses, boots, safety vests, a husband and our three boys to help some fellow Americans that are suffering," said Rasma Motykowski, co-owner of the business. "Yes, the destruction is worse than one can imagine."

The Motykowski's attended Joplin's Fourth of July celebration in which thousands of locals and out-of-state supporters gathered for a break from their around-the-clock clean-up.
"The resilience, work ethic and sense of community from the folks of Joplin who lost everything is inspiring," said Larry. "If you have a weekend or week to do something out-of-the-box then travel to Joplin and offer a hand."
