Pictures In The Time Of Coronavirus: Kendall County Callout
Do you have photos to lift your neighbors' spirits or share their struggles amid the coronavirus crisis? Share them with Patch!
KENDALL COUNTY, IL — Earlier on Friday, professional photographer Lauren Powe came forward to Patch to share her haunting photos of a shut down Plainfield, emptied of people. The images were so striking that we decided we wanted to see more. So here is a callout: if anyone in Kendall County has any photos of their communities or their lives amid coronavirus that they would like to share, let us know. Happy, sad, personal, societal: send them all to your local patch editor via email, and we'll post them here for the neighborhood to see.
The first - and thus far, only - set of photos belongs to Lauren Powe, whose work inspired this callout. Her series 'Plainfield During Covid19' is shot entirely in grayscale and contrasts eerie emptiness with images of hope.

These photos were taken in Oswego by Melissa Kiest of Melissa Jean Photography & Design. They have a similar vibe to Powe's, but with a bit more color:
