Theft

Oswego police are investigating the theft of about $13,600 from a business at 2733 Route 34 over the course of four months, dating back to February. Police suspect a former employee in the theft, and investigation is ongoing.

Marijuana possession

Steven M. Bootz, 22, of Montgomery, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 10:30 p.m. at 2350 Route 34, according to an Oswego police report. He was given  a July 22 court date.

Monday, July 4

Skate park brawl

Two juveniles were given ordinance violations by Oswego police for fighting at the skate park at Chesterfield Park, 141 Chesterfield Ave., at about 6:30 p.m. Monday. The 15- and 16-year-olds were also banned from the park, according to a police report.

Break-in

Oswego police are investigating a residential break-in in the 400 block of Greenview Drive that occurred sometime between Satruday and Monday. Estimated loss in the incident is more than $4,000.

Underage drinking party

Oswego police charged 13 juveniles with underage drinking after busting up a party at 505 Crystal Court at about 1:30 a.m. Monday. No further information was available.

Sunday, July 3

Domestic battery           

A 15-year-old girl was charged with domestic battery at her home in the 400 block of Blue Ridge Drive, at about 1 p.m. Monday from an incident that occurred in the home at about 1 p.m. Sunday, according to an Oswego police report.

Saturday, July 2

Domestic battery

  • Curtis G. Young, 346 S. Madison St., Oswego, was charged with domestic battery at about 3 p.m. Saturday at his home, according to an Oswego police report.  No further information was available.
  • Clarence D. Carter, 38, of 604 Chestnut Drive, was also charged with domestic battery at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, according to an Oswego police report. He was also charged with interfereing with a 911 call, the report said.

Counterfeit cash

Oswego police are investigating two separate incidents of someone passing fake bills to local business. The first was a fake $100 was used at Walmart Friday and the other was a fake $20 used at Speedway on Saturday.
