Possible Battery, Shooting On Farmington Lakes Drive: Oswego PD

Police reported Friday that they were investigating an incident of battery that may involve a gunshot wound.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Police reported Friday afternoon that they were investigating a possible battery and shooting on Farmington Lakes Drive. In a news release, police said that on Friday April 10 at around 10:30 a.m., they were dispatched to the 2000 block of Farmington Lakes Drive for a call of a battery.

Arriving at the scene, police said they found an injured 43-year-old man. Police said they believed his injuries were non-life threatening, but included a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital by the Oswego Fire Protection District for treatment. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

Police said the victim reported that the incident began when he answered a knock at the door to his apartment. He said three men displaying handguns forced their way into his apartment, beat and shot him. Police also said the victim reported the suspects fleeing the apartment in an unknown direction. It is not yet known if the suspects made use of any vehicle, police said.

No suspects have been identified at this time, but police said the victim reported that the men who entered his apartment were Hispanic men in their 30s with large builds. They were all reported to be wearing black hoodies and displaying handguns. Two were reported wearing face masks.

The incident is still under investigation, but police detectives currently at the scene said they do not believe the area is still dangerous.
