OSWEGO, IL — A new prescription drug drop-off box was installed this week at the Oswego Police Department to give locals a safe and anonymous way to dispose of unused or expired medication.

The secure and sealed box can be found in the lobby of the police department, at 3355 Woolley Road, and is accessible from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Officials said that at this time, vitamins, cosmetics, thermometers, batteries, illegal drugs and sharps cannot be accepted. Needles and sharps can be dropped off at the Sharps Drop Box outside the Kendall County Coroner's Office, 804 W. John St. in Yorkville.
