Stop Sign Taken From Local Intersection: Oswego Police
Police report that a stop sign was taken from the intersection of Wolf and Harvey Roads over the weekend.

OSWEGO, IL — A stop sign has disappeared from the intersection of Wolf and Harvey Roads, the Oswego Police Department reported over the weekend. The sign was reported missing at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 11. It is not yet known definitively who removed it; the police have received only hearsay reports.
"We received a report of a group of kids getting out of a car and taking the stop sign," Oswego PD Public Information Officer Cathy Nevara said.
Meredith Schmitt, an official with the Oswego Public Works Department, said it could cost a maximum of $200 to replace the missing sign. Depending on weather and availability of personnel, she said the department will try to have the sign replaced within a few days. In the meantime, a temporary sign has placed at the Wolf / Harvey intersection to maintain traffic safety.

"That will definitely be replaced," Schmitt said. "I don't know if they're going to work on it today or not... but I would say within the next day or two [department personnel] would try and fix that."
