Two DUI Incidents Investigated On Sunday, Jan. 5: Oswego Police
Two separate DUI incidents were investigated by the Oswego Police on Sunday, Jan. 5. One of the incidents involved serious injuries.
OSWEGO, IL — Local police investigated two separate DUI incidents on Sunday, Jan. 5. Both occurred after sunset, and in one incident the impaired driver had received serious injuries in a crash.
The earlier of the two incidents happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Ogden Falls Boulevard. Police responded after receiving reports of a possible drunk driver in the residential area. A 43-year-old Oswego man was arrested around 7:15 p.m. in the same area the police found him, and charged with driving under the influence.
No injuries or fatalities were reported from the scene, and the man was released after surrendering his driver's license and paying a $100 bond. His court date is set for Feb. 11 of this year.

The later incident occurred about two hours later, just after 9 p.m. The police responded to reports of a crashed vehicle on Route 30, southeast of the intersection with Harvey Road. They found a 52-year-old Plainfield man had crashed his SUV and sustained serious injuries. First responders took him to a local hospital for medical treatment before the police processed him. No other injuries or fatalities were reported from the scene.
The man was arrested shortly after midnight on Monday, Jan. 6 on several charges: driving under the influence, driving with a revoked license, improper lane usage, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He posted bond at $300 dollars and now awaits a court date on Feb. 12 of this year.

For both men, the listed charges are merely accusations. All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty.
