Village Of Oswego Hires New Events Manager
He will oversee village-hosted events, including PrairieFest, Wine on the Fox and the Christmas Walk.

OSWEGO, IL — The Village of Oswego hired a new events manager.
Kelly Bertog, a resident of Oswego, will begin his new job Nov. 24. He succeeds former manager Julie Hoffman, who resigned from the position, according to a report from Shaw Local. She began in the role in 2018.
Bertog joins village staff from Concept Schools, where he worked as the director of marketing, responsible for events, content and marketing for nonprofit education organizations. He also owns Yours, a non-alcoholic wine brand.

As the events manager, Bertog will be at the core of the village's community engagement efforts, meaning he will plan and manage village-hosted events, represent the village at community functions, monitor event budgets, support marketing and communication efforts, and serve as a staff liaison to the Cultural Arts Commission, according to the job listing.
Village events include the Christmas Walk, which kicks off the holiday season from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Other popular events include PrairieFest and Wine on the Fox. The village also operates Venue 1012, which hosts concerts and movies throughout the year.

Bertog's starting salary is $100,000, Oswego Communications Manager Lisset Padilla told Patch.
"We're thrilled to welcome Kelly to the team!" Assistant Village Administrator Jean Bueche said in a statement. "His creativity, energy and expertise in event planning will be a tremendous asset to the Village."
Bertog holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and entrepreneurship from Syracuse University.
