The brief clip, posted Sunday on the Kendall County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, advises motorists being stopped to first pull over to the right as far as you can. Once stopped, put your vehicle in park. Put your hands on the steering wheel and do not reach around in the vehicle.
Next, roll your window all the way down if you can. The police will ask you for your driver’s license, proof of insurance and possibly the vehicle’s registration. It is recommended to advise the officer where you will be getting the documents from and not to get out of your car unless asked to do so.

When the stop is complete, carefully enter back into traffic using your turn signal. The officer will not be stopping traffic for you.
The video was filmed and produced with help from Oswego East High School broadcasting students for a recent roadside safety training seminar in cooperation with the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Kendall County Emergency Management, Oswego Police Department, and the Kendall County Health Department.
