What's Open on Christmas in Oswego 2013

Christmas Day is time to relax and spend time with your loved ones. 

But you never know when you'll need that last-minute item from the grocery store or that present you forgot. 

Here's a look at what's open in Oswego on Christmas Day.

Drug stores/convenience stores:

  • Walgreens, 410 Chicago Road and 3401 Orchard Road,  open 24 hours a day.
  • Circle K, 1190 Route 34, open 24 hours a day

Restaurants:

  • Mason Wok, 2735 Route 34, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Veterinary Care

  • Oswego Animal Hospital is closed on Christmas, but calling their number, 630-499-8820, will connect you with the Plainfield Animal Care Center, 14411 S. Route 59, which is open 24/7.

Gas Stations

  • Speedway, 4032 Route 34, open 24 hours a day
  • Circle K / Shell, 1190 Route 34, open 24 hours a day

What's closed:

  • Oswego Public Library is closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Dec. 24 and Dec. 25). It closes at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve and will be closed New Year's Day (Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2014).
  • Oswego Village Hall is closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Dec. 24 and Dec. 25) and New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2014).
  • Oswego Township  is closed Christmas Day (Dec. 25) and New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2014).
  • Oswego 308 School District is on Winter break until Jan. 8. Administrators will be in offices, but not on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. 
  • The Oswego post office is open Christmas Eve until 12 p.m. and closed Christmas Day (Dec. 25) and New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2014).
  • Jewel-Osco (Orchard Road and Route 30 locations) are closed Christmas Day. The Orchard Road location will be open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve and 8 a.m.  to 8 p.m. on New Year's Day. The Route 30 location will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve and 6 a.m. to Midnight on New Year's Day. 
  • Meijer is closed on Christmas Day. It closes at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. 
  • Walmart is Closed on Christmas Day.
