4 Candidates Run Unopposed In Moraine Valley Board Of Trustees Race
Four incumbents are running unopposed for the Board of Trustees of Moraine Valley Community College in the April 1 consolidated election.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Four candidates are running unopposed for the Board of Trustees of Moraine Valley Community College in the upcoming consolidated election on April 1. Moraine Valley has four positions open, including three full terms of six years and one unexpired term of two years.
The slate includes two incumbents and two new names. Beth McElroy Kirkwood, the current board chair, is up for renewal.
Jaclyn O’Day was appointed to fill a vacancy in 2023 left by vacant by Bernadette Barrett, who is a Cook County Circuit Court judge. O’Day is running for an unexpired term of two years.

Diane Sharr and Walter “Wally” Fronczek are the two new candidates.
The deadline to file as a write-in candidate for the upcoming consolidated election in Cook County is Jan. 30, 2025. A write-in candidate must file a notarized “Declaration of Intent to be a Write-in Candidate” (SBE Form P-1F) no later than 61 days prior to the election. The declaration must be filed with the proper election authorities or authorities in those jurisdictions in which the candidate in seeking to be a write-in candidate.
