Smash-And-Grab Burglary Spree Targets 8 Palos Hills Businesses

The crew drove up in a stolen white Hyundai Sonata bearing Illinois registration EQ5763, Palos Hills police say.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Numerous businesses in Palos Hills were struck in an overnight smash-and-grab spree on June 10, reports said.

A stolen white Hyundai Sonata, bearing Illinois registration EQ5763, was captured on video entering the parking lots of eight businesses on Harlem Avenue, 103rd and 95th Streets. Police said five people got out of the vehicle.

Police said a few of the car occupants threw a cement brick through the front windows of the establishments. Wearing masks and gloves, all five entered the businesses where they grabbed cash register doors, liquor and various other merchandise. Then they got in the stolen Hyundai and left, according to the report.

The affected businesses include: Brama LaPizza, La CrepeCafessino, Selma’s Sweets, Xtreme Cuts, Elite Mobile, Maple Lake Wine and Spirits, Memeti’s Pizza, and Cholula Mexican Grill.

These are the latest smash-and-grab sprees in Palos Hills. Last month, three businesses were burglarized on Roberts Road. Maple Lake Wine and Spirits was also targeted by burglars in May and October.
