Class of '79 Donates iPads to St. Patricia School

Saint Patricia School’s use of technology in the classroom is growing thanks to the generous donation of an I-Pad and a Bowers & Wilkins speaker system donated by the Alumni from the class of 1979.

During our annual Oktoberfest, the former classmates celebrated a reunion with an opportunity to visit their old classrooms and swap stories, and fondly reminisce about being kids at St Pat’s.  Inspired by these memories, the alumni chose to help change the school’s learning landscape and put limitless possibilities at a child’s fingertips.

The class of ’79’s contribution impacts learning for all grade levels because the I-Pad 2 offers attention grabbing apps that make the school day more engaging, interactive and fun.

St. Patricia’s teachers are enthusiastic about being hands-on with current technology by selecting different apps tailored for their individual student needs and interests.

While playing Home Run, an I-Pad 2 math game, fifth grader Antioinette Wingo commented, “This helps me with math because it encourages me to keep going and do more.”

With the cheers from the crowd and baseball graphics, Antoinette felt just like she was at the ball game.  All ages enjoy exciting graphics, sounds and music that the applications offer.

Now Saint Patricia’s students have the opportunity to explore a variety of apps as they discover more about how the world works with aneducational tool that truly expands the learning experience!
