Barbara Marlin

Resident of Palos Heights

Barbara Marlin, nee Ilkowski, passed away on Monday November 18, 2024 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Louis Allen Marlin. Loving mother of John (Joanne), Tom and the late Louis “Andy” (Laura). Cherished grandmother of Olivia, Maggie Tullier, Adam, Dana, Melissa, Anna and the late Kyle Anne and Tommy. Dear great-grandmother of Isaac, Bennet, Indie and Rowan. Fond sister of Marion (the late Chuck) Kierscht and Richard Ilkowski.
Barb grew up in Chicago and formed lifelong friendships from high school and college years at Saints Peter & Paul and Saint Xavier. She was a dedicated educator for many years. Barb loved music, the theater, was an avid skier and traveled the world with her husband. She especially loved her dog, Lucky.
With a heart for helping others, she volunteered at numerous organizations including Lake Katherine and Neat Repeats. In addition to gathering with friends for bridge games and Christmas dinner with family, Barb was proud of her Polish heritage. Her kind spirit and beautiful smile will be dearly missed.

Visitation Friday, November 22nd from 3-8 P.M. Funeral Saturday, November 23rd, beginning with Chapel Prayers at 10:30 A.M. at the BECVAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, to Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, for a 11 A.M. Mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Circle Nursing Home where she lived out her later years.
