Firefighters Are Working To Recover A Body From Cal-Sag Channel
Palos Heights police say it's too early to know if the body being recovered from the water is the missing Morgan Park man, Joshua Blair.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Firefighters from the North Palos Fire Protection District are recovering a body that was spotted early Monday afternoon in the Cal-Sag Channel.
Palos Heights police have been searching for 37-year-old Joshua Blair, of Morgan Park, whose vehicle was found last week parked in the roadway near the bridge at 118th Street and Harlem Avenue. Blair’s wallet and cell phone were found in his vehicle.
Chief Mike Yott, of the Palos Heights Police Department, said the investigation has been turned over to Illinois State Police, who have jurisdiction over the Cal-Sag waters.

Yott said one of his detectives rode up in a Department of Homeland Security helicopter for another flyover the channel.
“The spotter saw something and contacted the North Palos Fire Protection District,” Yott said. “A boat was put in the water to recover the body.”

The body was sighted in the water west of Southwest Highway. Yott did not know if the body was that of an adult male.
