Body Pulled From Cal-Sag Channel Identified As Missing Morgan Park Man, Joshua Blair

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — A body pulled from the Cal-Sag Channel Monday afternoon has been confirmed to be Joshua Blair, Palos Heights police said.

Blair was reported missing on April 29, when his vehicle was found parked in the roadway near 118th Street and Harlem Avenue, near the Cal-Sag bridge. Palos Heights police, along with other the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police and other local police departments have been searching the area for over a week.

Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, officers conducting an aerial search of the Cal-Sag Channel located a body in the water between Southwest Highway and Archer Avenue bridges. The body was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. Following an autopsy, he was identified by his family.

“Our thoughts are with Joshua's family and loved ones during this unimaginable time,” Palos Heights police said in a written statement. “We extend our deepest condolences and stand ready to provide them with the support they may need in the days ahead.”
